Diola, also called Jola, is a linguistic continuum of Niger-Congo languages found mainly in Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, and the Gambia. It is the main language of the Diolas who are present in these countries. It is one of the national languages of Senegal along with Wolof, Fulani, Soninke, Serer and Mandingo.
The number of speakers of this language is estimated at 407,000 (2006).
