Balante is a West African language spoken by the Balante people, the main ethnic group of Guinea-Bissau. There is the Balante-Kentohe spoken in Guinea-Bissau. And Gambia and the Balante-ganja spoken in the southwest of Senegal.
The population speaking this language is: Balante-ganja 96 000 people (2015 figures), Balante-Kentohe :
– Guinea-Bissau: 354,000 (2016 figure).
