Learn Mpongwe language

The Mpongwe are a Central African population living in Gabon. They are a subgroup of the Myene. Originally, there were several variants of the ethnonym: Bayugu, Bongoué, Bongwe, Empoongwe, Mpongoué, Mpongwes, Mpungwe, Npongwe, Pongo, Pongoué, Pongwe1.

In Chad, Moussey, like all national languages, has no official status. Article 9 of the constitution states that « the official languages authorized in the country are French and Arabic. The Law sets the conditions for the promotion and development of national languages ».
