Also known as munukutuba or kikongo ya leta, Kituba appears to be a form of commercial Kikongo. It is a language whose speakers are considered to number in the millions.
Kikongo is chosen as one of the four national languages spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thus, the regions of the DRC that speak Kikongo are : Central Kongo, Kwango, Kinshasa, Kwili and Kasai. In addition, Kikongo is also spoken in the Republic of Congo in regions such as Brazzaville, Bouenza, Kouilou and Niari
